Following the first run test of 100 flamingos (of a
total of 10 tests) the code findings are as follows for lifespan.
The section of code in the animals .tsk file (in this case
ai\Tasks\animals\FlamingoGreater.tsk) containing the amount of 'lifeforce' assigned
to the species is :-

On adoption a random amount of lifeforce has already expired ranging from
0.0075 to 0.0225
Each day a randomly generated amount of lifeforce is used up by each animal
ranging from 0.03 to 0.0975
Basing an extrapolation on just that data gives us the equations for absolute
minimum lifespan in days as
(GE# - 0.0225)/0.0975
For maximum pre-lottery the equation is
(GE# - 0.0075)/0.03
The observed minimum lifespan for 100 flamingos is 135 days (giving a divisor
of 0.06185185..., the 185 bit is recurring) thus to equate a minimum lifespan
based on observed min for a sample of 100 animals is roughly
GE#/0.06185 (or if less worried about mathematical accuracy GE#/0.06)
The primates (Chimps, Crested Gibbon and Orangutan)
are currently immortal due to a coding error and a missing line of code appears
to have rendered all Sharks (inc. the Manta Ray), Blue Marlin and Turtles
immortal. In game terms the Ibex and Giant Sable Antelope are also effectively
immortal due to them having a coded lifespan of roughly 30yrs.
The duration for pregnancies is calculated in a
different way to all other timescales and appears to be roughly hour but this
is not confirmed yet (i.e. a Pregnancy code data number of 24 would equate to 1
day in game terms).
No. per birth is what the code states it should be
but due to glitches is not definitive and can be one greater than the max or
indeed on extremely rare occasions one less than
minimum.
Once I've pulled out all the data for the first 100 flamingos I'll put up a
file of it for any who want to fiddle around with the math’s and/or graphs etc.
Will then re-run the test a further 9 times to give a total sample of 1000
flamingos in order to accurately show the observed range, mean, median and mode
etc and to confirm the code findings. After that it'll be testing the code and
observed to find if the clock starts ticking towards death from birth or from
maturation for babies and the data for pregnancy, incubation and maturation
times.
